Can a new house suffer with damp?
The owners of a modern house discovered water in their loft a couple of years after moving in. We went along to investigate and found significant condensation in the loft during a cold day in December.
The membrane underlining beneath the roof tiles was not effective during freezing weather, resulting in excessive levels of moisture/condensation, which had caused damage to many items stored in the loft.
Extra ventilation was recommended to the client. This is actually a common problem with modern properties!
